OUR WINE
Our passion, enthusiasm and the desire to express ourselves through our products, are giving the desired results. To modernize the farm we have pursued the dream of turning it into an agricultural paradise, where extend our activities and differentiate the areas dedicated to the coltivation.
Among the most recent projects stands out the creation of a wine-growing sector with the construction of 20 hectares of vineyards aimed at re-evaluate the Viterbo native varieties such as Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Malvasia del Lazio and Trebbiano, embedded in a small part by international varieties as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
In 2010 an additional hectare of vineyard has been created, planted with varieties Fiano and cross-breeding Manzoni Bianco, cultivars that are not well known in the area, but that in our first experimental microvinifications reveal the potential of the wines that will be originated.
Since 2006, the year in which the vineyards were planted, the Ciucci’s family has decided to adopt a biological-type conduction of the company, not to follow the trand, but for the firm believe that only this one can give great results for the expression of the terroir and in terms of environmental sustainability.
The extension of the organic certification to the whole "wine" chain by the European Community demonstrates how our company is always in line with the times. The constant research and devotion that we dedicate to our vineyards by using cutting edge agronomic practices allow us to give our wine cellar excellent raw materials, which create wines of the highest quality and with a strong expression of the territory.
The wine cellar, located at the center of our vineyards, was erected inside of a historic farmhouse "Misciano" from which takes the name the homonym wine. Extended on one level it is composed of a winemaking department, a cellar for the aging of the wine and a showroom where our wines can be tasted in a warm and comfortable atmosphere.
So far the wines produced are four:
three single-variety from native cultivars, for the whites "Malvasia del Lazio" and "Donna Walda," for the red "Sangiovese", and finally "Misciano" a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. All I.G.T. Lazio, these are the first labels of a selection of wines that will soon be completed with other vintages that are currently in a preparatory stage.
